Company Overview
The Department of Family Studies and Community Development, one of ten departments in the College of Liberal Arts, has over 450 majors, 15 tenure/tenure track/clinical faculty and three lecturers. The unit includes learning opportunities through two undergraduate majors, a minor, two master's degree programs and three post-baccalaureate certificate programs. The internship/service learning program has a distinct focus on community engagement, which serves to link the academic unit to the metropolitan community while enhancing student learning. All human service majors are eligible for provisional certification in Family Life Education upon graduation. The department's master's degree in Child Life, Administration, and Family Collaboration is the only program in the region. A second graduate program leads to a master's in Leadership in Jewish Education and Communal Services. In addition, we offer post baccalaureate certificates in Family-Professional Collaboration, Jewish Communal Services and Jewish Education.
